In the 1950s with many Shanghainese immigrants in Hong Kong, Cheongsam was brought along and further modernized. Right-Side Zipped Cheongsam is fitted tightly to accentuate the figures of women. As more women were educated and working during that era, this type of Cheongsam was thought to symbolize the independence of women.
